Your Guides to the Groove

Hipster Disco is more than music. We’re DJs, artists, and creators who bring every event to life with sound, style, and energy.

Riv

Riv is a DJ and party curator whose sound is steeped in disco, house, and the unmistakable rhythms of Puerto Rican soul—salsa, merengue, and reggaetón all coloring his sets with texture and energy. He began in 2018 as Midwest Tropics, an eclectic project that allowed him to experiment across genres while cutting his teeth at house parties, bars, nightclubs, weddings, and festivals.

As a co-creator of Hipster Disco, Riv has helped build a collective that merges music, nightlife, art, and experience into a single pulse. The parties—playful, and stylish—quickly gained a loyal following. Under his Hipster Disco alias Ronnie Ferrari, Riv brings the same eclectic influences but channels them through the lens of disco, disco house, synthwave, and electronic sounds. Riv’s sets are designed to keep bodies moving and the vibe locked in way past his bedtime.

Edgar

Edgar, known behind the decks as EZ-E, is a multidisciplinary artist whose work blurs the lines between visual, social, and sonic experiences. As Creative Director of The Oddest Co., he has left his mark on Grand Rapids through large-scale public art projects and installations—creativity that naturally flows into his role at Hipster Disco. From hanging disco balls to stepping into the DJ booth, Edgar helps craft the collective’s signature atmosphere.

Born into the vibrant rhythms of Latin and Spanish music, EZ-E approaches DJing as both art and expression. With House music at the center, his sets layer fresh sounds and unexpected textures, guiding crowds into a space where the beat takes over and the dance floor becomes its own living canvas.

Justin

Justin wears two hats at Hipster Disco—as both Bar Director and one of the collective’s three featured DJs. Behind the bar, he brings the party to life with custom disco-inspired cocktails and creative sponsor partnerships, making sure every drink matches the energy on the dance floor.

When he steps into the booth as Murciélago, Justin delivers sets rooted in nu-disco and house, weaving tracks that keep the pulse steady and the crowd in motion. Whether mixing beats or pouring drinks, his mission is the same: keep the vibe alive all night long.

Reuben

Reuben is the art co-coordinator and creative force behind Hipster Disco’s visual world. A co-creator of the first Hipster Disco logo, he’s been shaping the collective’s identity since day one. From building props and stage installations to curating guest artists, his work transforms each event into a full-on experience.

Beyond the dance floor, Reuben owns Sonrisa Tattoo on Michigan Street, where he’s been tattooing since 2023. His eye for design and dedication to craft carry seamlessly between tattooing and event production, giving Hipster Disco its bold, eclectic, and unmistakably artistic edge.

Kevin

Kevin is a visual artist and live painter whose work transforms Hipster Disco into a multi-sensory experience. Known for his cosmic portraiture and immersive environments, he blends art and atmosphere to expand the party beyond the music.

As both a creative collaborator and installation artist, Kevin helps shape each event from the ground up. On the night of, he paints live alongside the beats—capturing the energy of the dance floor in real time. His pieces are later auctioned, giving the art (and the party) a life that lasts long after the final track fades.

Together, we keep the dancefloor moving and the vibes unforgettable
